Draught la

It seems like forever since we last jammed. Please don't remind us about Chris's departure boohooohooo =....( or else SanJay wouldn't shuddup. We are still dreading over his departure.
The new addition to our last jamming session was Tomas of Metaphor to chip in his awesome playing skills as our bassist. That was erm like 2 weeks ago?! Ftwwww right? Come on guys we need to jam more now that Bryan has more time in hand and we've got Tomas to fill up the empty bassist spot(sobsob now now let's now go there again about Chris). So yea the next jamming session will be this Sunday, 2 Jan 2010 just the right thing to do to kick start the year! Go AFJ wooohoooo!!!

p/s: I'm sure there'll be a post by SanJay very soon about The Rev of Avenged Sevenfold's drummer's death.

Tah for now =)

Goodbyes and Farewells.

So as its been an awfully long delay on updates cause we're still emo over Chris's (our bassist) departure to the States less than a week ago. His send off wasn't a easy one but hey, he gotta do what he has to do and we all wish all the best to him over there. That plus we'll get more equipments & other stuff's coming from the States without having to order online and go through some fussy American dealers lol. Import yoooooes!

Chris has been a good friend over the years, fun times were had together, crazy moments we went through and above all, he is like a brother (older one of course) to us but with a kid-like mentality which we all have this love-hate condition over it. Basically Chris was Meng's friend where they met in college. Chris was learning the drums during that period and that was like in 2006. How we started, here it goes.

Meng called me (Jay) up one day telling me we should start playing music together and such. I was still in Penang during that period so i would try my best to go down to KL every weekend just to hang out and jam with them. The crazy thing is, we had this passion for music, me, Meng and Chris shared almost the same playlist and influences for our taste in music, so that drove me to be there every weekend eventhough i was almost 400KM away from where they were. We started off playing some Post-Punk shit back then (2006) where Meng was just fresh with his guitar, Chris started playing the bass like barely 2 days before we started our first serious jam and i, well i was just banging the drums cause it made some cool noise when i did so. Over the weeks and a month after watching tutorials online and Youtube being our tutor, we managed to at least play some "music" at last. Our first cover song was The Used's Buried Myself Alive and by far till today its the only cover song we know how to play. We started posting online looking for another member to complete us, either a vocalist, another guitarist or both and we found a good vocalist by the name of Kim Fatt. Together we started our first band called Every Fallen Thursday which was suppose to be a Post-Punk band but due to some minor set backs, we slowly evolved to Powerpop. We all had so much fun growing and learning various things as we went on and watching Meng mould and teach Chris how to play the bass, it was awesome. To see the improvement he gained and the progress he made, it was priceless. Meng was like a music-father to Chris hahah, a very young one.

I lasted with Every Fallen Thursday for almost a year, some misunderstanding occured and i went back to Penang. EFT played on with a new drummer for another half a year or so without me and they had their set back and finally disband.

Meng and me wanted to start another band together which hardcore and screamo driven and along came AZUREFORJANNE. We asked Chris and Jayson to join the band and we were playing for almost a year without a stable vocalist. Vocalists came and left due to idea differences or they were just fucked in the head. We had the good ones and the really dumb ones. I would like to kill the dumb ones for being so dumb they bring it to a whole new level if i ever see them again lol.

Well, it wasn't long then where Meng asked me to try out for vocals in AFJ and we look for a new drummer instead. Due to the series of retardness we went through getting a vocalist, i said ok towards the idea of me being on the vocals. We found a drummer and very good friend, Bryan, not long after that. Vocals were fatalistically new to me but i've learned alot since the day i started hogging the mic. We grew as a band and close friends, we were like a family in no time. After all that, after a year passed on and now with a stable line-up as a full band, we elevated and improved together. We'll after all we've been through together with Chris since day one, its not easy to let go someone you grew along with. Moreover he was my housemate. Damn you Chris, i should've threw my shoes at you when i had the chance lol.

We'll that was our journey together with his, cut-down in synopsis format. What he means and what we've went through together, it can't be described in words. It was something that cant be told but can be felt. We'll miss you buddy and we hope everything goes well for you. DONT FORGET US OK! WE THE GAYANESSS! GET LAID YO! BIMBO STYLE!

We're gonna have a jam session with a close friend of the band this coming weekend to fill in the current vacant slot for the bassist position.

We'll update you guys soon on that.

OH AFJ's EP IS IN THE MIDST OF MIXING! ITS COMINGGGGGGGGGG!!

hahaha, have fun guys. have a great week ahead.

Till next time,

Jay.

We is emo

So here are a few events that has been going on for the past couple of weeks. Now that we can let out a sigh of relief that we have all done out time in the studio, what's left is mastering of tracks by Jeff. Which we are all so definitely excited to hear *wheeee jumps like a big kid. Once that is done we are right on track to get post-production stuff done. Actually it can be started now, CD cover designs and leaflet designs, get the work copyrighted and of course to get the word out. Though we are on a dry spell for gigs right now, we sure hope there will be lots flowing in once December kick in.

On the flpside =( our bassist, Chris will be leaving the band to go back to the States to make sure his green card is still in status. Geeezz what to say huh?! One thing's for sure, we'll sure miss you dude! Don't forget about your lil band here in Malaysia once you make it big in the States. We gotta say this no matter how gay it might sound, we love youuuuu aaahhhh! *sobsob criessss oh nooooo......
So does this mean we need to start auditioning for a new bassist now? I don't know man! Let the emo-ness sink in first la gosh =(

Go away boohoo I'm so devastated coz not only AFJ will lose a bassist, so will Sanjay eats airplane and I be losing a housemate who is rarely home.

Damn! Its the Prime Time.

Its been another productive week for us. Meng layed down his lead guitar parts after 3 days and this coming Friday, i'll be hitting the studios to lay down my vocals and whatnots. Everything sounds good and looking very very fine at the moment.

We'll if you guys dont know yet, we, AZUREFORJANNE, as we speak we're recording our first 5-track EP. Its almost at completion level for the recording side, as a matter of fact, its only the vocal layers that needed to be layed down and then voilĂ , its off to mastering.

We fall under Post-Hardcore/Experimental/Screamo genre and we're 3 steps away from rocking your sheets off the bed to the core of your torn socks.

Be ready for the full-prime time with heavy loaded barrels packed with explosives and moderate sexiness along the way. Its gonna be a blast and also its gonna be pure orgasmic. Haha no kiddz.

Ok so moving on to greater things at the moment, Seven Collar T-Shirt released their new album " THE GREAT BATTLE ", yesterday and it is a must have in your playlist. MUST! lol.

You can contact us or email to azureforjanne@gmail.com if you wanna purchase it, we'll put in a good word for you ;) or you can purchase it yourself at Awakening Studio (Tmn Desa) which is run by SCTS's bassist. THEY ZE ISH YOES! LOL

We'll be back with more details and updates soon regarding our recording.

Till then, you guys have a great week and rock em' skinny jeans off the hood yoes.

Toodles!

-Jay.

Lets give them, HEEEELLLLLL!!

Holaaaa Holaaaa everyone!

Its been a long week for us. Last Thursday we had our set for Dong Tai Du's Music Reunion 6 alongside 3 awesome and talented bands. They were Colours of Sound, Silent Scenery and the very own one and only, Nao. It felt great to be performing alongside with them again. The crowd was there and it was one heck of a show. Owned.

After a practise session on Sunday it was off to Rock Hysteria night at Urbanattic KL on Tuesday alongside Seven.Eight Hertz. It was not the best performance we pulled off but yeah, we still had alot of fun. It was Sheila's, our very good friend's birthday and we sang a random horrible birthday song for her on stage with God-knows what lyrics, chords and progression haha. It was an awesome night =)

A personal thanks to Luna ;) for putting us in the line up, Gwen and Farah for putting up the time and wait to watch us, Tomas who came all the way from Bkt. Jalil and Joshua, Sheila, Sam and his gf, thanks for always being there ;), Fauzie!!Thanks for coming dude, School mates and college mates, Bryan's Dad & Mom (YOU GUYS ROCKKKKKKKK!!!) and of course the girlfriends <3, Tangelene and Rina Revina for always being there and the support. Of course, thanks to all, everyone who came on that night. We love you all regardless!

Meng and Jayson will be in the studios this weekend to lay down their guitar tracks. Well that's one more step before i hit the studios and lay down my vocals, it'll be almost finito after that!

We're all anxious and excited to listen to the final product.

Will update you guys soon with the progress.

Till then, rock em sox off the yo's!

Cheers & Toodles!

We'd kiss it! We'd kiss it!

Holaa People!!

Sorry for the absence but it's been a rockin' weekend and we didnt know where to stop!
First off, Bryan layed down all his drum tracks and finally its done recorded. It took him 2 days off " Bodoh. kimak's and noob la" to finish recording it. Lol, but hey, its all good, and its awesome.

Will now wait for the track to be roughly mixed, then Chris (bass) would go in for his layers and that should be sometime around this week.

Moving on, we had a small random photohoot on Monday evening with Ms Gwen Yeoh and Ms Angelene Tang. It was a random, Myspace whore poses, no poses and a straight fun shoot.

After the shoot, we were off to Klang for Bak Kut Teh and the off from Klang to Tmn Desa for jamming. Tiredness knew a new friend on that day, he was called " Bryan-snoring-like-he-was-powered-by-Dolby-SRS-on-the-studio-couch ". Damn that was disturbing hahah.
Okay, more pictures will be up once we get it ;)

Well anyways, we owned the weekend, pre-weekdays. Rawrr.

Tah People!

And So We Became Studio Virgins.

And so it was on Monday, we finally, did something productive lol. We recorded guide tracks for Bryan to follow since he'll be the first to go in and record his drum layers. All hail the drummer!

We went in around 12pm and came out around 8pm but it felt like we were in there for days plus the uber freezing temperature. The process was super slow even for the recording of guide tracks just imagine for the real recording, oh-em-geez lol. Well, overall it was alright, we managed to record 5 tracks and we'll be hitting the studios again sometime around next weekend to record the drums.

Oh also, we got 2 awesome producers which i personally think we're lucky to have. They've guided us through so much and the amount of advises is priceless. This a personal note from AFJ, Thanks to Keng (Seven Collar T-Shirt) and Jeff (Army of Three) for everything so far and more thanks for everything else to come lol! We really appreciate it ;)

So yeah, recording's commencing, there's tonnes to polish and learn up, metronome's ticking in our head day and night and as like what Jayson said " Shit weh, we're gonna pay money to get stressed. " Lol. True indeed. Studio virgins we are... NO MORE wohooooooo!!!

We'll update you guys soon and pictures will be up! Toodles!

Rest In Piece.

Well, just merely 4 days back, we lost another infamous icon in the music industry. DJ AM or also known as "Adam Micheal Goldstein" which is his real name, passed on on 28th Aug 2009 due to accidental drug overdose.

Adam Micheal Goldstein aka DJ AM

Travis Barker/DJ AM - Fix Your Face

He was found dead at his New York City apartment around 5:20pm (NY Time) lying on his apartment floor. Not long ago, DJ AM survived a plane crash with Travis Barker (+44, Blink 182) upon take off in South Carolina which killed 2 of the plane crew members. DJ AM is also known for his contribution & collaborations with Travis Barker, he's also a member of the rock band Crazytown, he also scratched on albums for Papa Roach, Madonna, Will Smith, Shifty & played the sets for Jay-Z's gigs. Overall, his former fiancee was Nicole Richie, yes THE Nicole Richie. He's also the co-owner of the famous club LAX. Well, RIP DJ AM. Your contributions and music will live on with us.

We'll first we went through the phase of Heath Ledger (Damn man, who can pull off playing "The Joker" like he did in Batman? Who can ever? We'll Johnny Depp might come close but then, Ledger's play, it was classic & priceless. It still gives me shivers down my spine everytime i hear the line "Why so serious?!") ,which i still haven't recover from yet.

"The Joker" in The Dark Knight
Heath Andrew Ledger

The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Heath was a uber performer, an actor with a class of his own and honestly, no one can ever replace his characters he played in every single movie he starred in.

Then there's Bernie Mac's death, like ftw, how many awesome people can we afford to lose in such a short period of time?

Bernie Mac aka Bernard Jeffrey McCollough

Bernie Mac in " The Player's Club "

Bernie Mac was a comedian like no other, a mainstream comedian with fresh and witty lines which will crack you up in any given day.

We'll Farah Fawcett passed on too recently but it wasn't really an impact to we younger generations cause she was an old-timer (If you want, you can see her in the old super first Charlie's Angels series or movie, i think somewhere in the 70's or 80's while she was still super uber hot with that awesome hairstyle lol) so yeah, nevermind that but well, Fawcett, RIP too.

Moving on, not even days after Fawcett's death, the greatest Legend, The King of Pop, the dude who invented the "Moonwalk", the dude who gave us the incomparable "Thriller" video and the dude who went from black to white but fuck who cares, the late Micheal Jackson passed on.

Micheal Joseph Jackson

Damn this is too much to handle in such a short period of time! Jacko Wacko might had his moments, ups and downs but fuck, honestly i didn't pay any mind to those shit people claimed he did cause i know Jacko, he ain't a paedophile nor gay, he just love kids and he's too shy or busy to get laid. Micheal, your music and the awe of your every performance will live on with us forever. Micheal was a huge part of our lives directly or indirectly, consciously or unconsciously, he's one of the reason of who we are today and what we listen on the radio. Without Micheal, music would just be, uhmm still living in the Yoko Ono roots. Dayumn that'd be a sore.

Micheal Jackson with Slash

We'll guys, we've witness alot of causalities and deaths between 2007-2009. We mourn, cry, fill ourselves with emoness and we eventually move on, but somehow or rather we'll still feel the great lost of these great Icons everyday as we come across similarities that will make us ponder upon their resemblance when they lived. RIP to all those we have lost, family, friends, neighbours, role-models and everyone else who has passed on.

Toodles people.

Wohooo People!!

Firstly, its been a progressive week for us cause we've been in the studio for numerous hours, sometimes till the wee hours in the morning working on our songs for our upcoming EP. Merdeka's this weekend. Well a friend of ours from the band Mona Lisa's Cry from Penang would be performing for this huge event in Penang (Claimed to be the biggest Merdeka celebration event in M'sia) along side with Hui Se De Dai, Kelyvn Yeang and many other local acts, which is also gonna be their last performance cause both the Guitarists, Aaron & Andrew are leaving to UK to further their studies.
